Day Three: Snapping photos and making discoveries

It's now the third day of the Mosaic program and I haven’t received any assignments in the past two days. But today, that changed.

It was super out of nowhere — I was sitting in the main room, getting ready for the speaker, when Gianna asked me if I was free today. I told her I was and she asked me to take pictures of her assignment. Of course, I said yes, and she told me we were leaving in 10 minutes. Honestly, I was kind of like, ‘Woah, that's so soon,’ but I was just happy she asked me.

We drove to this non-profit organization in Milpitas that Gianna was covering. First, we looked for the building, then made a whole circle before realizing the room was near our car. To top it off, our subject almost refused to give us an interview and permission for photos. We begged and told her who we were with (I think saying we were with The Merc had her convinced) until she let us interview her. Thank God. I was able to get some decent photos and did better than I thought I would, so that made me happy.

When our group was done, we went for lunch. Camille and I walked back earlier than the rest, but when the group caught up, I found Abel drinking milk in 90 degree weather. I started laughing so hard my stomach started hurting — two hours later it still hurt.

Overall, I'm getting the hang of taking pictures and working with others in this program. I’m setting up more assignments every day.
